SFA gets another QB.

QB: Roderick Hartsfield 6-2; 215 Waxahachie, Texas (Waxahachie/Alcorn State/Iowa Western) (So.)
Offers from SFA, Southern, Northwestern State, Alcorn State

GP:10;COM:10;ATT:25;YDS:127;TD:1;INT:1 (2025)

- NJCAA Division I National Champions (2025)

Those stats lead me to believe he probably will change positions here. 10 games played, went 10-25 for about 127 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. I assume he was the backup, but maybe our staff saw something in him.

If our QB Play can be up to Vidlak levels or close to it. I think we will be fine. I still see Playoffs.

Or even close to Vidlak levels.

Gavin is a very strong runner and has a really strong arm. His accuracy won't be what Vidlak's was but the extra dimension he can add to the offense can potentially make the offense just as lethal as last year, maybe even a little stronger in certain situations.

I don't have much info on Kitna. His tape from last year is very limited. He looks like he's got a good arm but mechanically had work to do. Idk if he's cleaned up his game in the spring or not.

He's got all the potential. And he proved it for a couple of games while Vidlak was nursing a shoulder injury injury.

We are starting from a decent spot.

100% He has approved a lot. The biggest strength is the running game. Gotta keep those defenses on their toes.

Lackawanna College? Man, they must have used a search-and-rescue team to locate that guy.

But seriously, looking at his highlight videos on Hudl, the guy's got some skills.

But it says right there we started in 1923? Why celebrate 100 years now?

Seasons. Not years. WW2. Guessing.

Correct, SFA did not play football 4 consecutive seasons during WWII (1942-1945)

Saw school's like Wisconsin announcing Jersey patch deals for places like Culvers and got to thinking, who would SFA go with if someone wanted to sponsor the jerseys.

Money wise, ETech, Pilgrims, or CBTX probably makes the most sense. Maybe Foretravel RV.

But I think I came up with the best option for a win/win considering SFA jersey patch rights aren't a gold mine.

Brendyn's BBQ. And do it basically at cost or for free.

Now you're probably asking, why do something for free when we can get maybe 10-15k from CBTX or similar?

Bc we're doing it for advertising for us and Brendyn's and Nac. The first school to announce a sponsorship with a Texas Top 50 BBQ place is gonna get mentioned in Texas centric news. It's gonna get picked up by well known football podcasts.

You can do a lot of short form video content with Coach Carthel and Brendyn's team to boost the partnership and get a wider set of eyeballs.

The others are purely a small cash play to get a few bucks for the athletic department and there's nothing wrong with that. A jersey patch for Brendyn's is gonna get free press, more eyeballs on SFA, more customers for Brendyn's and more visitors to Nac.
